The Town collects information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, mobile telephone number, and the topics you select when you sign up for Town Alerts or contact the Town Office. Standard web server logs (such as pages requested and general technical information) may also be recorded to keep the site secure and working properly.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties except service providers necessary to operate the Town Alerts service.

• Residents may voluntarily provide a mobile number when signing up for Town Alerts. A mobile number is never required to use this website or to receive Town services.
• A mobile number provided for Town Alerts is used only to send informational municipal notifications for the alert categories the resident selects.
• Message frequency varies with Town activity.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Residents may reply STOP to any Town Alerts text message to unsubscribe.
• Residents may reply HELP to any Town Alerts text message for assistance.
• The Town uses service providers, such as its SMS delivery provider, only as necessary to operate the Town Alerts service. These providers may process the mobile number and message content solely to deliver messages on the Town's behalf.

When you opt in, the Town records the exact consent wording shown to you, the date and time of your consent, and the page or source of the sign-up, so the Town can document that consent was given. Opt-out records are retained so the Town does not message a number that has unsubscribed.

Information is used to respond to inquiries, deliver the notifications you request, and administer Town services. The Town does not sell personal information and does not use contact information for marketing or promotional purposes. Town Alerts is an informational municipal notification service.

The Town may disclose information to its service providers as necessary to operate this website and the Town Alerts service, and where required by Maine law, including the Maine Freedom of Access Act, or by lawful order. Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data are not shared for marketing purposes under any circumstance.

Subscriber records, consent evidence, and unsubscribe history are retained as municipal records. The Town uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information it holds, and access to subscriber data is limited to authorized Town staff.
